On the outskirts of Kampala, you will find many village communities situated around a school, church and a public house. Kalema Samuel aged 5years is a primary student to a school in buwambo ,wakiso with his best subject being math(numbers). During play ( break) time, he finds comfort in being alone unlike other kids who play with others.
Before taking this photo I asked him why he was alone instead of being In a company of friends. "I prefer playing alone since most of my friends are at home yet I come to school.I also have to teach them what I have learnt during day so that we all grow up to be doctors. " he replied. Kalema also shared with me his joy with a very brief smile about the pair of shoe he Was given on his 5th birthday by https://greatchild.org/ @greatchildfoundationug which he was trying to clean before the bell rings for another class session.

For the hope and motive given to these children to look forward to school each day because when there is no child in school, the schools Will be closed and in turn the heart of the community will be lost.
